Day 37 – Love Agrees in Prayer

Love Agrees in Prayer – Day 37 of the Love Dare. The unity that grows between a man and a woman who regularly pray together forms an intense and powerful connection. It becomes an effective weapon for a lasting marriage while also strengthening your sexual intimacy. This will be the “one thing” that will change everything in your marriage – the one area where you can agree to agree.

Day 37 – Love Agrees in Prayer

“If two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father”
Matthew 18:19

THE DARE: Ask your spouse if you can begin praying together. Talk about the best time to do this, whether it’s in the morning, your lunch hour, or before bedtime. Use this time to commit your concerns, disagreements, and needs before the Lord. Don’t forget to thank Him for His provisions and blessings. Even if your spouse refuses to do this, resolve to spend this daily time in prayer yourself.

TALK TO GOD TOGETHER WITH YOUR PRAYER PARTNER

When a husband and wife talk to God together, it ushers the presence of God into their marriage with love, joy, and peace you long for in your home. Marriage gives you a prayer partner for life to seek Gods answers together when:

  • you need wisdom on certain decisions – you and your mate can seek God together
  • you’re struggling with personal fears and insecurities – your prayer partner can hold your hand
  • you and your spouse are not getting along and are in an argument – you can drop your weapons and go with your partner into an emergency intercession
prayer for guidance

Prayer should be your first response when you don’t know what to do. Agreeing in prayer pulls you both back towards the real center – face to face before the Father.

It’s hard to stay angry with someone you’re praying for. It’s hard not to back down you’re hearing your mate cry out to God for mercy in the middle of a heated crises. Just pray – and pray together.

Let prayer intervene at high points of disagreement. Prayer stops the bleeding, quiets the loud voices, and pauses our painful passion as we realize Whose presence we’re in.

LOVE AGREES IN PRAYER – DAY 37 OF THE LOVE DARE

But don’t only use prayer when you’re fighting with your spouse. Pray for them daily and always, as it leads your heart to care for them more deeply. And hearing them pray for your needs, your protection, and God’s blessings for you is an awesome feeling and will deepen your love and feelings for them.

Making it a habit to pray before going to bed at night and thanking the Lord for all His blessings, will become a ritual you will look forward to. It becomes a beautiful time spent with your spouse – and God will be pleased when He sees you both humbling yourselves and seeking His face … together.
