Green Smoothie To Clear Acne – it can be done, it’s all about the food you eat.  If you’re struggling with acne, and yes – you can even have it when you’re over 50, or if you have children or grandchildren that are struggling with acne, then these next few post are for you.  As I mentioned earlier, my college son is home for the summer and this is something he’s been struggling with for years – acne and cystic acne.  Topicals, prescriptions, you name it – he’s tried them all.  Now this mama bird is on a mission to help him with  his acne problem, how to help him overcome this skin disease.

There have been several studies made that suggest following a healthy diet can help prevent and treat acne. Foods that are rich in the following nutrients are linked to lower levels of acne: complex carbohydrates, zinc, vitamins A and E, omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants.  Foods that contain CHLOROPHYLL (the pigment found in plants that give it their green color) and SPIRULINA (an algae that is rich in vitamins B, C and E. It also contains high contents of macro minerals like zinc (which is needed if you’re struggling with your skin) calcium, magnesium, zinc, and potassium. It’s also an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids (which is also great for your skin).

GREEN SMOOTHIE TO CLEAR ACNE

Ingredients

2 kiwis
1/2 cup chopped pineapple
1/2 cup cucumber
A handful of swiss chard
1/2 peeled lemon or lime
1-2 tbsp ground flaxseed
1 tsp spirulina powder
2 cup coconut milk

Directions –  add the above to your blender and blend into a smooth drink.  Give it a go and let me know what you think.
