Giving Thanks In Everything
Super Soul Sunday – Genesis 2:2-3
Giving Thanks in Everything. What does the Bible say about resting on Sunday? “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor, and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD your God. In it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates. For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.” ~ Exodus 20:8-11
And what should we be doing on this Sabbath day? Spend this Holy Day giving thanks to God, for He has made it possible for your courage, strength and achievements throughout the week. If you have good health – thank the Lord. If you have a roof over your head – thank the Lord. If you have food on your table – thank the Lord. Thank Him for everything.
GIVING THANKS IN DIFFICULT TIMES
Funny how when things are going right for us, we give thanks and then carry on – it’s human nature. But what do we do when things aren’t that good? Do we just pray for help? Perhaps the answer should include thanking the Lord even when times are hard. Because no matter how bad your situation is, or how much despair you might be feeling … the Lord is always by your side – He is there right with you – and He has a plan for you. And when you put your trust and faith in God, and thank him for EVERYTHING, God will help you to prevail.
Remember – even in trying times, God will not let you down. He will use these hard times to work good in your lives and to give you the strength to do so.
REST ON THE SEVENTH DAY – GENESIS 2:2-3
“And on the seventh day God finished his work that he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all his work that he had done. So God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it God rested from all his work that he had done in creation. “
