Free Amazon Returns at UPS, Whole Foods and Kohls. Wrong size or color on clothing? Purchased wrong item or it isn’t what you expected? Or you’re simply having buyers remorse? If you’re a frequent Amazon shopper, I’m sure you’ve experience this one time or another. But did you know that most items purchased at Amazon offer free returns? And most of the time you don’t even have to repackage the item yourself.
Wish I had known this little piece of information a year ago as I had to put that item for sale on Ebay because I received the wrong size. But I do know first hand that their free return policy is legit as I’ve since had to return an item which turned out to be an easy breezy transaction. So check it out.
THINGS NOBODY EVER TOLD ME ABOUT AMAZON’S FREE RETURNS POLICY
Amazon offers free returns on most items delivered to an address in the 50 United States. There is one hitch tho – just make sure the item you are purchasing has “Free returns” next to the price to confirm that the item qualifies for free returns.
How does this work? All return-eligible items, weighing under 50 lbs and sold by Amazon, have at least one free return option. You can return the item for any reason in new and unused condition for up to 30 days after purchase. During the holidays, items shipped by Amazon between November 1st and December 31st can be returned until January 31st.
How does label-free, box free returns work? Don’t worry about printing a label or packing up your item. Just go to your orders on the Amazon website and select the item you wish to return. Tell them why you want to return this item, then choose a drop-off location that supports label-free, box-free returns. They will send you a QR code. All you have to do is bring your code and item to the drop-off location, and you’re done.

Where are the drop of locations? Just drop your purchase off at a UPS store, Whole Foods Market, or Kohl’s to have it returned. You don’t need to worry about finding the original box, repackaging it, or printing out any special labels. Show them your Amazon QR Code and the employees at your drop-off location will pack, label, and ship everything for you for free so you can get your refund with as little effort as possible.
When will you get a refund? Most refunds are fully refunded in 3-5 days after they receive and process your return.
Does Amazon offer replacements and exchanges? Yes, you can create replacement and exchange orders at the Return Items page and following the instructions. If you received a damaged or defective item, they will ship you a replacement of the exact item. If you would like to exchange an item for another, you can exchange for a different size or color or for an item in your cart.
BOTTOM LINE – a lot of merchandise is bought and sold on Amazon, making them #1 in online shopping, and I’m sure they want to keep it this way. So all the more reason to keep their satisfied and unsatisfied customers coming back – even when you receive an item that needs to be returned. Kudos to them for making our lives easier !!
