Cocktails to Keep You Healthy All Winter | Yummy. I’ve always said there’s nothing wrong in indulging with a nightcap in the evening. It takes away any stress you may have experienced during the day, most definitely helps you to relax, and makes you sleep like a baby. But if you’re going to indulge in that one evening bevvie, add some immunity boosters to it – as your body will seriously thank you.

Cocktails that include immunity boosters like blueberries and cinnamon are a must to help keep you healthy over the winter, and they’re perfect for sipping by the fire on those cold winter nights.  And if you really want a boost to your immunity system, stir in one or more of these ingredients to punch up the flavor and your health … cranberry juice, brewed tea, a dash of ginger, and a dash of chili powder. 3 COCKTAILS TO KEEP YOU HEALTHY ALL WINTER

1. FIGHT OFF THE FLU WITH A WHISKEY POMEGRANATE COCKTAIL  Studies have found that pomegranates are rich in the punicalagin antioxidant that stops the flu virus from replicating or spreading.

  • 1.5 oz whiskey
  • 1/4 oz green chartreuse liqueur
  • 1/2 oz vermouth or dry white wine
  • 1/2 oz pomegranate juice
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • optional sprig of sage

Combine whiskey, green chartreuse, vermouth and pomegranate juice in a cocktail shaker.  Add sugar and shake well.  Strain into a tall glass filled with ice and garnish with sage.


2. REV UP YOUR NATURAL DEFENSES WITH A BLUEBERRY MOJITO.  It’s been proven that blueberries anthocyanins pigments, have potent immunity stimulating properties.

  • 1 handful mint leaves
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 quarter wedge of lime
  • ice
  • 1/2 cup lemonade
  • splash of soda
  • 1 oz light rum
  • 2 tbs frozen blueberries
  • 1/2 oz dark rum
  • sprig of mint
  • slice of lime

Combine mint leaves and sugar in a tall glass.  Squeeze juice from lime wedge into the glass, muddle with the back of a spoon or muddler.  Fill glass with ice.  Add lemonade until glass is 2/3 full; pour in a splash of soda.  Add light rum and blueberries, then stir.  Slowly pour dark rum into the drink so it floats on top.  Garnish with mint and lime.


3. KEEP AWAY COLDS WITH A PEAR TARTE TATINI Pears are rich in vitamin C and cinnamon inhibits the growth of viruses – perfect combination

  • 1.5 oz pear vodka
  • 1/2 oz cinnamon schnapps or cinnamon whiskey
  • 2 1/2 oz pear nectar
  • 1 quarter wedge of lemon
  • grated cinnamon or nutmeg

Combine vodka, schnapps and pear nectar in a cocktail shaker.  Add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice and shake well.  Strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with a dash of cinnamon or nutmeg.
