Day 7 of the Bone Broth Diet – Day of Fasting

9 Key Benefits to Fasting With Bone Broth. Well today is Day 7 of the Bone Broth Diet – Day of Fasting. It went pretty easily as I was busy all day, morning to night, and didn’t think about food or the fact I hadn’t eaten any solid foods. I drank a cup of warm broth for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and then had two for my snacks – a total of 5 cups for the day. Which was pretty easy as I didn’t get a headache telling me I was hungry.

So here’s the daily menu for today – pretty boring stuff, huh?   Check back tomorrow when I splurge on some tasty meals to make up for today. And I’ll be checking in with my scale in the morning to see if any weight has come off – fingers crossed. 9 Key Benefits to Fasting With Bone Broth

Fasting with bone broth combines the benefits of fasting with the nutritional advantages of bone broth, creating a supportive and balanced approach. This method is ideal for intermittent fasting, extended fasting, or even as a preparatory step before a longer fast. Here are the 9 key benefits to fasting with bone broth.

  1. Supports Nutritional Needs
Rich in Nutrients: Bone broth contains collagen, amino acids (like glycine and proline), minerals (calcium, magnesium, potassium), and electrolytes that support overall health during fasting.
Electrolyte Balance: Prevents dehydration and cramping, common during fasting, by replenishing essential electrolytes.
  2. Enhances Gut Health
Collagen and Gelatin: These compounds help repair and maintain the gut lining, which may improve digestion and reduce inflammation.
Anti-Inflammatory Effects: Glycine in bone broth has soothing properties that support gut health.
  3. Promotes Satiety
The protein and gelatin in bone broth can help curb hunger during fasting, making it easier to stick to the fasting window.
  4. Boosts Detoxification
Bone broth contains glycine, which supports liver function and detoxification pathways, enhancing the body’s ability to eliminate toxins during a fast.
  5. Aids Joint and Skin Health
The collagen and amino acids in bone broth support joint health by maintaining cartilage and reducing inflammation. They also promote healthy skin, hair, and nails.
  6. Gentle on the Digestive System
Bone broth is easy to digest and provides a break for the digestive system while still delivering essential nutrients.
  7. Supports Immune Function
Nutrients in bone broth, like amino acids and minerals, help strengthen the immune system, which can be beneficial during a fasting period.
  8. Enhances Weight Loss
Fasting promotes fat metabolism, and bone broth supports this process by maintaining energy levels and preventing muscle breakdown.
  9. Improves Hydration
The liquid nature of bone broth ensures hydration, particularly during longer fasting periods when water alone may not be sufficient.

So Day 7 of the Bone Broth Diet, my day of fasting, is now complete. So far so good with no food cravings along with no headaches or feelings of being hungry. All in all this is appearing to be pretty easy. Let’s see what tomorrow brings with day 8 when I get to eat solid foods again. See you then.
