6 Ways To Make Your Flu Symptoms More Bearable
SEE YOUR DOCTOR as soon as you can for antiviral medication – they can make the flu milder and prevent serious flu complications. Antiviral drugs work best if you’re on them within 2 days of getting sick, but starting them later can still be helpful.
AVOID SPREADING THE FLUE – you may still be contagious up to 5 or more days after symptoms appear. Make sure to wash your hands frequently, cough or sneeze into a tissue.
USE A HUMIDIFIER – moist air helps soothe sore throats and hacking coughs.
DRINK CHICKEN SOUP – believe it or not chicken soup really works as the steam opens nasal passages, the broth soothes the throat, and the soup actually helps infection-fighting white blood cells do a better job.
DRINK LIQUIDS – which will help thin out the mucous so it can get out of your system.
RESTAND SLEEP – specifically at a 45 degree angle helps prevent the mucous to gather in sinus cavities, which is unpleasant and could also lead to further infection.
Also – another great cold and flu syrup is Elderberry Tonic. This you can make yourself – just get some elderberries, dried or fresh, and follow this recipe. Click the link for full article ELDERBERRY TONIC SYRUP. I swear by the stuff – IT REALLY WORKS !!
