10 Signs You’re In A Narcissistic Relationship

So what is NPD – Narcissistic Personality Disorder?  It’s a disorder in which a person has an inflated sense of self-importance.  It’s the pursuit of gratification from vanity or egotistic admiration of one’s idealized self image and attributes, including self-flattery, perfectionism, and arrogance.

But did you also know NPD is found more commonly in men?  Surprise, surprise !!  The cause is unknown but likely involves a combination of genetic and environmental factors.

So how do you know if your “other” has a narcissistic personality disorder?  If you’ve been in this relationship for a while – THEN YOU JUST KNOW IT.  But for those new to this subject, here are 10 SIGNS YOU’RE IN A NARCISSISTIC RELATIONSHIP. 

1. His needs are the most important.  In their world everything is good if his needs are met and you’ve planned your life around his needs.
2. He takes EVERYTHING personally.  They feel the need to be recognized or they’ll get upset.  And if you disagree with him, then you are the problem and will be center of his anger.
3. He lacks empathy for others.  They are completely insensitive toward the feelings of others, especially the ones they claim to love.
4. He is a manipulator.  Manipulation is fun and playtime to the narcissist. You will receive the silent treatment, be blocked on social media, your calls and texts will be ignored, or he will leave the house for long periods of time, all in an effort to force you to comply and accept his abusive behavior.
5. He is always right – ALWAYS.  They are never wrong and if you dare say they made a mistakes it will get turned around to being your fault.  You will be in an endless discussion on how you’re to blame until you agree with them or give up.
6. He is a drama queen.  A narcissist’s behavior can change on a drop of a dime – very unpredictable with reactions being excessive to an issue. Hell has no fury like an angry narcissist and you will be taken aback by his rage and punishing ways towards you.
7. He’s a major control freak.  Ya think !!  These narcissists will not let up until your once loud voice is a mere whimper.
8. He never takes responsibility for anything.  They blame everyone else for everything and nothing is ever their fault. When was the last time you heard a sincere I’M SORRY?
9. He is hyper-sensitive to criticism.  Narcissists have such  fragile egos, they think every negative comment is an attack on them.  And if criticized in any way will set them off.
10. Unlike you, he is unaware that he has a personality disorder.  Not only will he never admit he has a narcissistic disorder, but if he read the signs above, he would think this describes you to a T.
